Dr. Vesna Pirec, MD PhD
My extensive experience, knowledge and multicultural sensitivity, have shaped my approach to treatment as individualized and holistic.
I am combining integrative methods with psychopharmacology and psychotherapeutic modalities, when needed, to address complex mental health difficulties.
I am a board certified psychiatrist who has been working in both academic and private sectors for over 20 years in the Chicago area. My areas of expertise are reproductive psychiatry (psychiatric issues in pregnancy, postpartum, during infertility treatment and in perimenopause), as well as mood, anxiety and eating disorders in both genders. I also provide one time consultations regarding management of psychiatric symptoms during pregnancy, postpartum or infertility treatment. Recommendations from these consultations are then forwarded to your ongoing provider.
I am an emphatic and engaging listener who truly cares about my patients. By obtaining a detailed history along with addressing your concerns, difficulties and needs, I would suggest a comprehensive treatment plan, and work with you towards achieving your goals.
